... There was said to have been an ancient order in years past in these parts. Now, only ruins remain, and an eerie silence. Or so it must seem. But the old winds are stirring, calling The Descendants home. There are remnants of an ancient civilisation, and now wisdom and traditions that were once long lost shall be rediscovered. It is only a matter of time before the Kosmikos Genesi shall return.

Crushes:
It all begins with this: Attraction. Any character can "like" another, even if they already have a mate (though this is not recommended)! Crushes can lead to mated pairs, therefore, even pups! There is no time limit on when a character can have a crush - they could "like" them as soon as they meet them - and there is no limited number of crushes a character can have, though under 3 is ideal.
To tell if a character has a crush, check out what they do in roleplay and check out "Crush:" under their profile.
Please note that sometimes a crush doesn't go both ways: Beware!

Mates:
This is when two wolves/characters of opposite gender pair up. After the two have finished the ritual shown below, they are then bonded with love, and can then birth their own pups and raise them together.
If the two don't get along or don't want to be together then they can split up, and go their own ways once again.

Requirements:
-Both must agree to becoming mates.
-Both wolves must be above the age of 2 years.
-Neither wolves can have another mate unless the two split up or one dies.
-The two must have known each other for at least two full roleplay days and be good friends.
-The wolves must must get along well.
-Both wolves must have permission from the Head Olympians.

The Ceremony:
When the two have permission from the Head Olympians, and the two have accepted the idea of bonding through becoming mates, they can choose to go through something called "The Ceremony" - sort of like a wedding, but not quite.
There are two (sometimes three) stages of The Ceremony. The first part ("Proaulia") is where both of the two spend a day with only friends and family of their same gender and prepare for The Ceremony. The second part is the main part: The actual ritual, otherwise known as the "Gamos". The third part, which is optional, is the Epaulia; when gifts are given to the new couple.
Part 1: As mentioned above, both of them spend the day with close ones of the same gender. They will take a bath in one of the ponds or rivers and generally clean and groom themselves (the family and friends will/may help!) for the next day. This includes picking out their laurels (they can be new ones or some that they already had) and fixing up other preparations. They will also fast (not eat) until after The Ceremony. (This stage is optional for the Bachelor, but he still must fast!)
Part 2: After the two have filled out a form for planning the Ceremony (found in The Events Board when starting a "New Topic") and have finished Part 1, a chosen Shaman ("priest" for the ritual), the Bachelor, and the invited "Guests" will travel up to Mount Olympus just before dawn. Then came the Bachelorette, whom would walk towards the Bachelor and Shaman at the front of all the Guests. Then the Shaman would ask the following lines: "Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Hephaestus, Hermes, Dionysus, and especially Aphrodite and all the others of Olympus, here be [Bachelor] and [Bachelorette], whom wish to be bonded in the title of mates. We hope this pleases you. Speak now or forever hold your peace. [End of post. This is where someone can object to the bonding of the couple. The Shaman, after a RL (real-life) day or until they are told to, continue, even if it is a double post.] So now, with no further adieu, I name them mates." After that, comes the feast which everyone will partake in until they can't eat anymore.

Pups:
Whether a new couple want to have a litter of their own, or someone wants to a adopt their own little one, pups are a real blessing (or curse), and it always adds more depth to roleplay having your character related to another. BUT there's some things you should know, first - have a look below!

Adopting A Pup
-You don't need a mate to adopt a pup!
-You must know the pup well.
-The pup must agree to be adopted.
-You must be active and be able to feed and take care of the pup to adopt!
-The pack will help you with raising the pup, but they will not do all the work.

Having Pups
-You must have the Head Olympian's permission.
-You can only have one litter per year.
-The parents must be over two and a half years to breed.
-If pups do not find roleplayers within two months of their birth, they shall die. Parents roleplay the pups until then.
-The mother must stay in the den with the pups until they are old enough to come out. She is also limited to what she can do during her pregnancy; No hunting, fighting, etc.
-Number of pups, how healthy they are, how long pregnancy is, if the mother or pups survive birthing, etc, is determined by how high the mother and father's Maternity Skills are.
-You must be active and be able to feed and take care of the pup to have pups!
-It must be a breeding season. (The end of winter towards the ending of summer.)
-The pair may design their pups, or let the pup roleplayers choose to make their character, but the pups must look something like their relatives.
-The couple must "mate" to see if the female becomes pregnant (roll of karma dice).
-All mating and birthing must follow the rules (no goriness).
-For more about pups, birthing and pregnancy see the Ageing and Pregnancy guide!

*If you have a question, don't be afraid to ask a staff member or an experienced member (veterans).
